St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Since the early 1970s Tri Delta’s chosen philanthropy has been Children’s Cancer Charities. This philanthropic cause encompasses a wide array of charitable organizations and represents the collective effort of Tri Delta’s members and chapters across the United States and Canada who continue to donate goods, volunteer time and host fundraisers for the research and treatment of children with cancer.

In 1999, Tri Delta formed a national philanthropic partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This partnership provides our members with wonderful opportunities to grow as individuals and leaders as we help children LIVE, scientists LEARN, and St. Jude LEAD in its mission of finding cures for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

In July 2014, Tri Delta made the largest single fundraising commitment of $60 million in 10 years — the single largest fundraising commitment in St. Jude’s history, and received prominent recognition by having the short-term housing facility named Tri Delta Place.

A combined effort of our collegiate and alumnae chapters, along with the unselfish leadership of each individual member and our extensive network of family and friends, makes Tri Delta ranked as one of St. Jude’s top corporate partners alongside for-profit industry leaders like Target, Best Buy, Chili’s, FedEx and Domino’s.

We are so proud to be a part of an ambitious and successful philanthropy. The history of Tri Delta's efforts come much before our large 2010 goal! During the first year of the partnership, 15 Tri Delta chapters raised over $44,000 for St. Jude. In 2002, Tri Delta set a goal to raise $1 million in 4 years to endow the hospital’s Teen Room. We completed our goal in 2005, one year ahead of schedule. In 2006, Tri Delta committed to raising $10 million in 10 years to name the Patient Care floor in the Chili’s Care Center. In just four years, we met this goal, raising $10 million by 2010.

Tri Delta raises the most money of any national Greek Organization for its cause. We are proud to support St. Jude’s mission to find cures and provide the best possible care for children with catastrophic diseases, insuring that no child is ever turned away based on race, ethnicity, religion, or ability to pay. St. Jude families never see a bill for their child’s care or treatment.
